Fitting Instructions

Ponytail door knockers perfectly merge timeless, eclectic Art Deco style with traditional elements of a classic knocker, comprising of attractive asymmetric lines with a clean, understated, elegant striking plate. This means that they are ideal for more modern, contemporary home exteriors. It features an integrated striker plate and attractive, contemporary lines, whilst still allowing you to stick to the tradition of adding a knocker onto your door. Ponytail door knockers offer unbeatable value for money, without any compromise on quality.

These Ponytail door knockers have a durable finish and are constructed from solid brass, so are incredibly hard-wearing and resilient. Fixing the Ponytail door knocker is far easier than you may think. They are fixed to the door using revolutionary, hard-wearing nylon bolts, which can fit door thicknesses of up to 75mm. These bolts are ever so simple to cut down to size if you have a Stanley knife to hand, and this in turn means that there is no requirement for sawing. Nylon bolts do not rust or condensate, which means that entry doors will look pristine and unspoilt for longer.

Fitting Instructions

Fitting Your Door Knocker

1. Mark on your door where the the two drill holes will go.

2. When drilling the holes through the door, we recommend that you use a 6mm drill bit for the nylon bolts. Drill from the outside of the door inwards.

3. Once you have drilled the holes, please make sure that the flexi nylon screws supplied with the door knocker fit through the two holes.

4. Screw the 2 flexi nylon screws onto the door knocker and position through the holes on the door. This should cause the flexi nylon screws to be protruding out on the inside of the door.

5. Use a stanley knife to cut down the threads to size. We recommend leaving a 7-8mm overhang for the bolts to be threaded to.

6. Place the metal washers on the flexi screws first, and tightly thread on the 2 coloured bolts. This will secure your door knocker onto the door.

Cleaning Your Door Knocker

Every month, wipe the door knocker over with a moist cloth and remove any dust particles that may have accumulated.

Pay particular attention to any moving parts around the striker arm, and finish off by wiping the door knocker with a lint free cloth.

We guarantee the door knocker and finish against the following;

Surface Coating

We guarantee that the door knockers have a 5 year inland coating guarantee (defined as 25 miles from the coast or 5 miles from a highly populated industrial area) subject to;

1. The door knockers are applied to a door, window frame or door.

2. The door knockers are fixed correctly and are not scratched or damaged at any time during the installation process or thereafter.

3. The door knockers are cleaned monthly with a moist cloth and not with any form of cleaning agents.

4. No claim will be accepted for any door knockers that is scratched or mutilated or fitted incorrectly.


We guarantee that the door knockers will not fail mechanically in normal use during the 5 year guarantee period subject to the conditions outlined above.
